AGM 2010

The very evening on 16 July 2010, SIM Dragons congratulate Teo Tong Loong and Geraldine Leong as captains and Chia Yi Liang and Caroline Halim as vice-captains for the new season 2010 - 2011. We are confident that the newly in-charge would continue to build on the success the team has come to taste and savour for the past year. With SRR2009 and SDBF2010 in the bag, it is undeniable that the coming season will pose greater challenges for them being current champions. Afterall, what was seemingly improbable was made possible through the concerted effort of every rower and the endless hardwork of the team.

The Class of 2009 - 2010

2010 Singapore Dragon Boat Festival:

Prime Minister Cup Winner

1st Tertiary (Men)

2nd Tertiary (Women)

3rd Open (Mixed)

2009 Singapore River Regatta:

1st Tertiary (Men)

1st Open (Men)

1st Open (Mixed)

In this season of golds, SIM dragon boat team has achieved an unprecedented feat of clinching a treble of championship firsts at the Singapore River Regatta (SRR) 2009. Following closely on its local success, the team tasted several victories abroad during Penang Pesta 2009, bagging medals most notably in the mixed event category. And in March 2010, SIM Dragons participated in SAVA MR500 but did not have a good showing as many of their rowers were busy preparing for their examinations. Local watchers did not expect that SIM Dragons would come good, especially against the likes of NTU and NUS big boys. This minor setback, however, did not discourage but strengthen the underdog’s will to succeed when it matters the most at the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival (SDBF) in July 2010 which they won the prestigious PM Cup and IVP Gold. If SRR 2009 treble gold was a mere fluke, then SDBF 2010 top-notch performance was their vindication of hard work, perseverance and belief.
